Harold May
Harold (Hal) May, M.D., graduated from Harvard Medical School in 1951 and received an MPH degree from the Harvard School of Public Health in 1974. Specializing in general surgery, he spent 11 years as a medical missionary in Haiti. He returned to the U.S. and served for five years as Director of the Division of Community Health at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, then 19 years as Director of Medical Services at Wrentham Developmental Center while also a member of the surgical staff of the Brigham and Women's Hospital. Hal resigned from active medical practice in 1994 in order to devote full time to working with others to develop support systems for children and families as the president and founder of FAMILY, Inc. (Fathers And Mothers, Infants, eLders, and Youth).
